Swiss rider Tristan Marquet has been suspended following a positive test for pseudoephedrine. Marquet first provided a positive A sample during competition at the Copenhagen 6 Day in February of this year.
The 24 year old was notified of his positive A sample in the summer and requested the obligatory testing of his B sample. During September, the result of the B sample was also found to contain the same substance.
The banned stimulant is a decongestant, normally found in cold remedies to treat sinus congestion. Marquet is now suspended until such time his Swiss governing body decide the length of sanction the rider will incur.
