Katie Compton, the American queen of off-road, landed a fantastic deal for the 2011 season with the Dutch Rabobank-Giant off road team. Rabobank has long been associated with the support of road cycling in recent years and has backed a squad of young emerging riders from Holland. With the increased support of Giant and Shimano, the squad has increased to 20 riders for this coming off road campaign.
Katie has been a long established Bike Pure role model and after a few seasons struggling for a solid support structure, it is great to see her able to plan her Cross and MTB seasons with ease.
For young athletes to have the finest athletes in the world to emulate knowing that they compete with pride and honour is a truly great thing. The essence of sport.
We wish Katie and all her teammates a safe and successful 2011.
