Riders Set for Cyclo-Cross Worlds

By: , , Filed in: News

The highlight of the cyclo-cross season takes place this weekend with the World Championships taking place in Tabor, Czech Republic.

Conditions in Tabor could create some interesting conclusions over the weekend with recent temperatures reaching as low as -18 celsius. With snow forecast over the next couple of days, officials have been trying to make the course as safe and as fast as possible.

In the men’s race the following Bike Pure riders will be taking part, Thijs Van Amerongen & Thijs Al (Netherlands), Ian Field (Great Britain) and Jeremy Powers (USA).

In the women’s event Katie Compton (Planet Bike) looks to put her recent leg cramp problems behind her. Her third place in last year’s World’s and her World Cup wins mean she may not be far from the podium. Britain’s Helen Wyman (Kona) will also be looking for a top 10 result after a solid season. Other riders flying the flag for Bike Pure are Gabby Day and Nikki Harris (Team GB) and Vicki Thomas (Canada).

The men’s under 23 race could ensure a Bike Pure rider on the podium, with the man in form Tom Meeusen (Belgium), likely to keep up his excellent results.

We wish all the riders a safe and successful event and we’ll have results in the coming days. Good luck!
