Details of the new UK professional squad Horizon Fitness Racing Team was launched this week. Team Director Stefan Wyman has assembled a talented squad of riders, covering all disciplines of the sport. Riders include cyclo-cross professional Gabby Day and Paralympian and Track World Cup champion Sarah Storey.
The team will focus on events in the UK and Belgium for the first part of 2010, then head to bigger events on mainland Europe as the season progresses with the Trophy D’or and Tour of Limousin pencilled in. Several of the team are vying for Commonwealth Games selection this year so results will be high on the Horizon Fitness Team’s agenda.
The team will also carry the Bike Pure logo on their team kit and are proud supporters of Bike Pure’s anti-doping stance. Team Director Stefan Wyman said to us earlier this week “Horizon Fitness Racing Team are proud to display the Bike Pure logo on our kit. Bike Pure perfectly represents our views on anti-doping in cycling. With the continued work of an organisation like this, we will all make the sport a better place for riders of all levels.”

The Horizon Fitness team begins it’s race program from early April. ‘We have a couple of riders going to Australia for some pre-season training, while the others will mix training in Europe with some track and cyclo-cross racing. It’s always a long season, and there is a lot of racing ahead” commented Stefan. ‘I think everyone’s excited to see how far we can go in the first season and we have some big plans.’
Horizon Fitness have a long history of supporting sport and have long term plans to build a stable environment for their riders to develop and reach the top of their sport. It’s a partnership that will see many benefits for the team in the coming seasons ahead. The complete team line up so far is Gabby Day, Hannah Rich, Penny Rowsen, Sarah Storey, Dani King, Alex Greenfield, Ella Sadler-Andrews and Annabel Simpson.

Bike Pure welcome teams of all abilities, whether amateur or professional, to use the Bike Pure logo on their kit in support of clean cycling. Please contact us if your team would be interested.
